Herbie is getting two new fenders

We have to say thank you to our friend and mechanic Friedrich who helped us with the painting of the new fenders. Luckily no single bolt broke when we took the old and rusty fenders off. We’re finished! But today we’ll just wash and polish our Bug before posting pictures with the new fenders.

We decided to go shopping food we need for the next days. So we drove to Lancaster and Palmdale today. It was a 300 kilometer trip. And our Bug is obviously doing very well. On our way to Lancaster while the California sun rose. We know – we haven’t changed the fenders yet. But we we’ll do that and we’ll post some pictures as a proof. We arrived in LAX (Los Angeles Airport) safely on Wednesday, October 27. Our friend Michael picked us up in order to get to Ridgecrest, where we are staying at a friend’s house and where Herbie and the camper waited for us to reactivate them.
