Domi and Flo are already cruising around to see the beauty of America. They went from Ridgecrest to Yuma, Tucson, Flagstaff, Mexican Hat and yesterday to Green River. On their way they saw famous places like the Grand Canyon, Highway 95, Monument Valley and the popular street from Easy Rider. Sadly as they drove away from Monument Valley Herbie’s windshield broke! First days in the golden state

Last Thursday Domi and Flo took a plane to the USA. They flew to LA and then rent a car to get to Ridgecrest where Herbie was situated. Flo has already known it for a long time, his loved bug from 1966 is verry rusty! He decided to do it the right way and seperared the car in two parts so he could repair it like it was new. He put in a new heaterchannel, a cross memper under the rear seat and a repair section for the rear quater panel. He also did a lot of welding in the front and rear wheelhouses and the firewall. Every second year the VW-Käfer und Bulli Liebhaberclub Laxenburg hosts a meeting at the old campsite in their hometown. We came with four bugs and true to the motto “quantity rather than quality” we didn’t get a top ten award but a prize for being the second largest club at the event.
