Third Oldtimer Meeting in Enzersfeld
Last Sunday as Georgy, Fabi, Lisa and Markus where at the “Seiberer Bergpreis”, Domi, Benjamin and Flo visited the Oldtimer community in Enzersfeld. Take a look:
The family is getting bigger
Our new member Max is now on the road with his loved bug – have a good ride!
Bad news
I have read about this tragic event on the styrian bustards blog. I want to share it with you because there’s a call for donations for this guy. Brand – Supergau!! VW Schrauberhalle Raub der Flammen! Das Schlimmste, was einem VW Schrauber passieren kann, traf dieses Wochenende meinen Kumpel Andreas Lerch aus dem Landkreis Traunstein / D. Seine (angemietete) Schrauberhalle inkl. vieler einmaliger Oldtimer (VW T1 Bosch Bus, low-light Karmann Ghia, Ovali, Brezel, Alfa, Alltags Audi Cabrio,…), Ersatzteile, dem genialen…
Attention! 1967 bugs become more worth…
… because until yesterday it’s one less. Poor Matthias, we’ll help you to get back on the road.

What do you do, when you need new Headlights for your car? Go to your partdealer and buy them! And what does our friend Flo do? He buys the whole car. Nearly the whole car… A big thanks to Benjamin for his perfect sized trailer! And thanks to Robert Prokschi from www.puch500.at for this…thing!
Milestones have been reached
Thanks guys for over 100.000 clicks on our blog! By the way our KdF-Channel has over 600 videos to watch!
Note that
You can’t get enough bugs
Flo is still unteachable – if there’s a good deal, he makes it. So his new car is a 1964 export model. It is the last one with small windows and the flat windshield. Sadly the last owner left it standing outside in the mud for about 10 years.
A Quarter of A Century
The co-founder of DLV and our dear friend, Flo, is celebrating his 25th birthday today. Therefore we all wish you, Flo, a happy, happy birthday and all the best for your next quarter century!
Lost Herbie found
‘63 Ragtop now in Flo’s possession!
Christmas brought only the best
This Lego model of a 1962 camper is available for more than one year, but now we also got one! Sorry for the bad pictures…
Merry Christmas
You made it
DLV barn – where cars become barnfinds
If you can’t hold on buying old cars you have to look for more space. Therefore we bought a farm in the middle of nowhere to store them.
The Italian Job
Last weekend Benjamin and Georgy went on a mission to welcome a new aircooled vehicle – prodotto in Italia – into our community. A Vespa PK 80 S from 1985 with a 120ccm engine. The perfect ride for the upcoming time of the year, isn’t it?!
Old car – old mode of transportation
On our way back from Korneuburg – with some fresh powder coated parts loaded – we decided to use the cable ferry across the danube. Noticed the sign in the background? “25tons or 40 passengers” – Come on, the Austrian population is far from 625kg a person!
Follow the signs
… to the DLV Late Summer Ride 2013
Thanks guys
Who pulls who??
Friedrich and Matthias reorganised the parking space in Upper Austria, so they had to move the trailer to an other place on their property. During the moving process they had to pick up some wood planks from the saw mill. Thus they connected the trailer to a Trabbi from Friedrich and drove to the saw mill… As it happens to be the trailer is a little bit longer than the actual car. Greetings from Upper Austria!
News from Flo’s garage
Flo has trade his 1303 body to this ‘55 Oval bug with the rare “Golde” sunroof. Georgy can proof that Flo alwas wanted to have an Oval and a T1. Maybe it’s the nex project car after the bus is finished. Will see…
The International Day of the VW Beetle
Today, June 22, we’re celebrating the International Day of the Volkswagen Beetle.
Floods in Austria
Although we are an “Aircooled Community”, we couldn’t avoid coming across water on the streets of Eastern Austria. Domi tucked away Herbie safely on a hill and is driving Trabi these days – Herbie encountered enough “watering obstacles” on his way round the world. Yesterday Domi and his friend Flo (from DLV) inspected some local flooded roads.
Another aircool ride for Flo’s collection
Flo has spontaneously bought this Trabant 600 or P60 from 1963. First he only want to polish the car, fix the brakes and complete the missing parts. Beside the P60 you can also see Friedrich’s P50 or Trabant 500 from 1958.
Thanks Guys
In Austria’s News Today!
The Austrian newspaper “Heute” published another article on Herbie’s World Tour today!
Our first ‘barn find’
Benjamin and Chris heard from a guy, they met at their new hall, there is a disassembled bug stored in a barn near Korneuburg. The only details he knew, the bug is a later version, may be an export edition and most important for free – so let’s go!Unfortunately it was no 1303, as Chris hoped, to use it as spare parts donor for his BIG. Also there were only a few parts left (floor plate, front and rear axle,…

Kind of déjà vu
More than two years ago (December 2010) Benjamin and Chris rent a trailer to take Chris’ Autobianchis from Graz to Vienna and stored them in a container (read the full story here and here). Finally they found an affordable hall, big enough to store all their “projects” (Chris’ two Autobianchis and his 1303S BIG and Benjamins BMW 318i E30), so they rent again a trailer to take the cars to their new home near Gerasdorf. And again they had bad…

Bye, bye rusty bus!
Flo’s T2a bus has left us last friday. He thought about his projects and so he decided to offer some of them. He has no time for so many cars! So he sold his 1969 bus to a man, who will hopefully restore it. But! Don’t be sad. It’s not the only bus of Flo’s garage. 😉
Domi’s Trabi want to say hello to his owner in africa!
Domi has parked his Trabant in a barn near his hometown. Flo and Georgy visited the little car last week to bring one of Friedrichs cars there. In front of Domi’s car you can see the bug from Christopher who has also took it there for the winter.
Things have changed
On the picture below you can see the parking lot on the Kahlenberg in Vienna, exactly where our first meeting took place in September 2012. We found this photo on the FB page “Vintage Vienna”. As you can see there’s a lot of change. You can’t enjoy the view and let’s be honest, the street lights were far more beautiful than theese days.
Best greetings and stay tuned for 2013
You made it!
We wish all our followers a
If you forget to fuel, you have to wait for gasoline…
…but so Flo could made a nice shot of his panel in front of the “Jubiläumskirche”.
First start of the Panel
Pizza-Pasta-Bus
Today, imported from Italy: 1963 panel van.Flo has bought this bus on eBay. Although he had never seen it, he must have it. And the condition is as good as expected. Italian climate has not let it rust as strong than austrian cars did. Although it is a lot to do but that doesn’t worry Flo. Tomorrow he want to fix the starter and look if the engine works.
Happy birthday Domi and a nice first advent sunday!
On Sunday, the the first Advent Sunday, our dear friend Domi had birthday. We want to wish you all the best. It is a pleasure to have a friend like you! We hope you Zainab and Herbie are well and we are looking forward to the next report! Take care of you in Africa!
Welcome Aboard!
After saying “good-bye” to our family and friends we started a new chapter of Herbie’s World Tour by heading all the way to Genoa, Italy, where we’ll go on board a cruise ship named “Fantastic” by “Grandi Navi Veloci” to Tangier in Morocco, Africa. We drove about 1,000 miles (1,600 km) through Austria and Italy. We reached our destination, Genoa, on time. Herbie and the camper are waiting outside while we’re connecting to the world wide web at a fast…
New caravan
Flo has bought once again something new. This time it should be a caravan. On the internet found and immediatly bought. A “Dübener Ei” from the year 1982. It has the VIN 1062 which also corresponds approximately to the time produced pieces. There is still a lot of work in the vehicle but Flo hopes to get it back on the road in summer. Details to his current vehicle fleet soon. Here are some details and the history about the…

We are glad to welcome Christopher and his ‘61 bug called “Eisenstein” in our Community!

Aircooled stuff in Prague
Last weekend some of my collegues went on a trip to visit Prague (Czech Republic) and had the chance to took some pictures of aircooled cars. Some of them with extensive modifications you won’t see in Austria.
